Kauai getaway at Koloa Landing Resort

I love neighbor island getaways! They are the perfect way to relax and reset, without going too far or spending too much. Last weekend, we escaped to the beautiful Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu and had the best time! The resort is gorgeous, has the nicest staff, and features all of the luxuries you could ask for.

We were greeted with aloha when we arrived! It was lovely being welcomed with lei and welcome drinks, which of course included Koloa rum. Yum!

We stayed in a one-bedroom villa, and were lucky to be placed with an ocean view. Koloa Landing Resort actually doesn’t price their rooms by view (pool, ocean, garden view), but instead solely on the room size. The hotel offers villas that range from one to four bedrooms with 800 to 3,600 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. They boast that their villas are the largest on the island! All of the villas have a gourmet kitchen, cookware and serve ware, king-size bed, a queen-size sleeper sofa, a private bathroom with separate tub and sink, and a large lanai. Of course, air conditioning and Wi-Fi are included as well.

The entire property is stunning, but my favorite part of it is definitely the THREE big pools. The main pool is 350,000 gallons and features waterslides, an infinity edge, swim-through waterfalls & grotto, poolside cabanas, and multiple Jacuzzis. We had the best time going down the water slides and lounging at the cabanas on our first day. The private cabanas come fully equipped with flat screen TVs, overhead fans, mini fridges, and chaise lounge chairs. Our fridge was even stocked with water bottles and snacks.

We enjoyed a few meals at the restaurant on the property, Holo Holo Grill. The food was delicious and the restaurant is conveniently located at the center of the resort. Everything was amazing, but my favorite dish was definitely the avocado toast!

We also strolled to the Shops at Kukuiula, which is just a few minutes walk from the resort. There, you can find dozens of restaurants, boutiques, and even a Long’s for any of your needs. The shopping center also has cute areas for photo ops!

We ended off our vacation in the best way possible..at The Spa. The Spa at Koloa Landing has a pre-treatment suite, men’s and women’s locker rooms (where you find your robe & slippers), private treatment rooms, and a retail boutique. Tom and I got a relaxing couples massage, and felt pure bliss through the whole experience. The couple’s treatment rooms have a private lanai, rainfall shower heads and the island’s only Japanese Ofuro soaking tub.

In addition to the spa and pools the resort has many other great amenities, especially great for families to enjoy. There is a putting green, soccer field, volleyball court, firepits, poolside BBQs, two ocean access walkways, marketplace and sundries shop, 24-hour fitness center, and so much more. They really do have everything you could want, and that made it really feel like a paradise home away from home.

I would recommend Koloa Landing Resort to anyone! Tom and I had an adventurous and romantic weekend, but it would also be the perfect fun spot for a full family stay as well.
