Waikiki Eats: Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin

Not sure how I hadn’t heard of this spot before, but I am SO glad that my friend took me here this week!

Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin, located on the Waikiki Beach Walk, transports you to Japan with their amazing atmosphere and various traditional Japanese dishes. The food is delicious and definitely worth the trip to Waikiki.

They have a huge selection! A few of their featured katsu offerings include kurobuta pork loin, pork tenderloin, chicken, and black tiger shrimp. And poke, tamago, fried oysters, crab cream croquettes, and fried tako are a few appetizers on their huge menu. Is your mouth watering yet?

We went during lunch, so we went with three of the four lunch sets. We ordered the mixed katsu set, katsu don set, and katsu curry set. I can’t wait to try the Bairin set next time! Each set comes with at least a miso soup and cabbage salad. The mixed and curry set also come with rice. AND GET THIS…the miso soup, rice, and cabbage are UNLIMITED!!

The restaurant actually worked with a cooking oil company to develop their very own oil for their tonkatsu, and uses their original raw breadcrumbs which they developed as well. Everything is delicious & I highly recommend this amazing Waikiki gem!
