Hot Hotel: Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach
Oh, how I wish I could take a staycation every weekend.
We love to get away and enjoy the beautiful hotels and pools across the state, and last weekend we felt like a staycation was long overdue.
Tom & I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach for two nights, from Friday to Sunday, and had a wonderful stay.
The hotel is super chic, clean and classy. It’s located right in the heart of Waikiki, just off the main Kalakaua strip. So you are a close walk to Waikiki Beach, shopping and restaurants.
The day of check-in, we had a lunch to get to in Waikiki at noon, so we went to the hotel to drop off our bags early. They gave us a pineapple ginger spritzer as a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. Luckily, they had a room ready and let us check in a few hours early, which was so helpful! Waikiki Yokocho is just steps away from the hotel, so we met our friend for lunch there before walking back and heading to the pool!
The pool is AMAZING- The chic lounge chairs and modern design of the whole deck gives off serious Vegas vibes.
The pool area is beautiful, and obviously very Insta-worthy. I will say though, I wish the pool was deeper. The area with the chairs is only ankle-deep, which is fine because it’s a lounge area. But even the deepest part of the pool is only 14 inches deep! So to get your head wet, you have to lay completely flat. The one big benefit of an adult style pool like this, is that there aren’t a ton of children yelling and splashing in the pool. However, I do enjoy actually swimming in pools, which you really can’t do in this one. Regardless, the relaxing pool time each day was still the highlight of my staycation.
The bar is really close to the pool; they don’t serve you outside, but it’s easy access to grab a drink and walk it out yourself. The hotel also provides two water bottles in the room for guests to keep, and those were great to have poolside.
We had the breakfast buffet included in our stay for both mornings, and it did not disappoint! The offerings were different each morning, with good variety and surprisingly good quality. Both days we ate a big late breakfast which held us over until dinner.
The hotel workers were very attentive and helpful throughout the stay. From the front desk to the dining room staff, everyone was polite & professional.
The room itself was big, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The building used to be used for office spaces, so none of the rooms have balconies, but the big windows do help to show off the nice city views!

Overall, our stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach was pretty perfect. I would recommend the hotel to anyone & definitely plan to return myself!
